There are several meanings for the word ‘passage’ but for me in this context there are three that sum up the relevance of this little corner of the website.
- the action or process of moving through or past somewhere on the way from one place to another.
i find myself as i move through or past somewhere i always seem to find the appropriate book / article / film / documentary / talk etc., as if it had been synchronistically and deliberately laid before me as i pass.
- the process of transition from one state to another.
And as i digest and internalise an extract / snippet / passage from one of the above mediums it transitions me from one state to another. It raises my level of understanding, it catapults me onwards and upwards.
In other words these passages lift me from ignorance to knowledge.
- a short extract from a book or other printed material.
And so i would like to share with you every Friday one of these passages which i pray could benefit you as much as it has me.
This will not be simply another page of ‘quotes,’ i will give you the exact origin and source of each of the passages.
